Museum Hofwijck

 

Museum Hofwijck is one of the most important monuments from the Dutch Golden Age. The mansion was established in 1641 by poet, musician and diplomat Constantijn Huygens. Both the villa and gardens are constructed according to building principles from the Italian Renaissance.

The historical Herenstraat in Voorburg is more than 2000 years old and belongs to the most beautiful shopping streets in the Netherlands. In the Herenstraat you can also find the City Museum Leidschendam-Voorburg.

Vlietland

Recreation area Vlietland is a green and attractive area with a 130 ha lake for all kinds of water recreation. Starrevaart is a 'bird lake' east of Vlietland, where you can observe a variety of birds. Between Leidschendam and Voorschoten, the so called Duivenvoordecorridor is a beautiful area with traditional farms and mansions. Here you can also visit Duivenvoorde Castle.
