The metropolis is internationally connected throught Rotterdam-The Hague Airport, highspeed railways from Brussels, Paris and London, and an excellent network of motorways.


The RET lightrail and the NS train network gets you around to all main spots in the metropolis. If you are less in a hurry, there are also many opportunities for transport by water.

Getting there by air


Rotterdam The Hague Airport connects the metropolis to many destinations in Europe such as Rome, London, Madrid, Vienna, Prague, Barcelona and Istanbul.


Getting around


A close network of lightrail, trams and buses brings you very efficiently to almost any corner of the Metropolis . The RET lightrail services Rotterdam and its suburbs and reaches even to The Hague, that has its own HTM network.

Getting there by train


The Thalys is a very speedy connection between Rotterdam and Antwerp, Brussels and Paris. The Eurostar connects Rotterdam with London.


Water transport

South of Rotterdam, ferries will help you to cross the waters. From Rotterdam the waterbus has a commuting service to Krimpen aan den IJssel and Dordrecht.The Rotterdam Watertaxi has services on the river Maas.

Walking & Cycling


A very relaxing way to get around is to leave your car or public transport and continu by bike or have a nice walk.
